Galvanized Buckets and Watering Cans
Health Hazards:
Some but not all galvanized buckets and watering
cans contain lead or lead solders. Test yours with a home
lead test kit. This lead can leach into water, as
well as rub off on your hands. These products generally are
not appropriate for kitchen uses.
How to Avoid or Minimize Exposure: If
your product tests positive for lead, wash your hands after
handling it, or replace it with a lead-free product to be sure
to avoid lead exposures.
