| Diving Weights
Scuba divers use die-cast lead weights for recreational,
military, and commercial diving applications in weight belts
and accessories for scuba regulators and scuba cylinders.
Health Hazards:
Old-style scuba diving weights are pure lead. Handling
them transfers substantial amounts of lead to one's hands.
How to Avoid or Minimize
Exposure: Many dive weights now available utilize a hard plastic
coating that minimizes this risk. If you use uncoated lead
diving weights, wash your hands thoroughly after using them.
